About Us

Give Us A Break (GUAB) is a small, volunteer-run charity located in Wolverhampton.

We’re dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of young people with complex disabilities and their families.

We are a collective of parents and carers who understand the unique challenges and joys of caring for individuals with disabilities.

Our shared commitment drives us to create inclusive and memorable experiences for our community.

Our Mission

At GUAB, our mission is clear: to provide accessible activities that foster connection, enjoyment, and growth for children and young people with complex disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to participate in enjoyable and enriching experiences, regardless of their abilities or limitations. Through our events and programs, we aim to create a supportive and understanding environment where families can come together, share in the fun, and build lasting memories.

What we do

GUAB organizes a diverse range of activities, primarily during school holidays and occasionally on weekends, to accommodate the needs of our members. These activities are carefully chosen to ensure they are accessible and enjoyable for everyone. We are proud to subsidize these events through generous donations and funding, keeping costs as low as possible for our families.

Our activities vary dependent on factors such as funding and availability, past activities have included: swimming, trampolining, cinema screenings, messy sensory play, music sessions, sensory centre visits, boat trips, interactive animal encounters, soft play adventures, Christmas festivities, day trips to exciting destinations, UV parties, and much more. We continuously seek new opportunities to expand our offerings and meet the unique interests of our members.
